To fulfill this mission, we offer a wide range of programs for low- and moderate-income residents, including Adult Education & Workforce Development, the Financial REACH Center, Early Childhood Education & Care, Energy Programs, Food & Nutrition Programs, and Housing Programs. Position Overview Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Fiscal Manager oversees General Ledger close processes and financial reporting. You will manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Grant/Project management, while ensuring all financial records comply with agency procedures, GAAP, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. You will also prepare accurate and timely financial, budget, and reporting information for program management, funding sources, auditors, and the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities Department Leadership :
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fiscal office, providing hands-on support and guidance to staff managing the agency's grant and fiscal activities.
Financial Management :
Manage the general ledger and lead the month-end closing process. Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors and reviewers as directed by the CFO.
Cost Allocation :
Oversee the payroll cost allocation process, ensuring payroll costs and invoices are allocated to the correct contracts, accounts, and budgets in compliance with all regulatory standards.
Budget Reporting & Analysis :
Work with fiscal staff to prepare monthly budget-versus-actual reports for each program. Review and analyze results with program managers and the CFO to control costs, allocate funds properly, and maximize budgets.
Grant & Contract Support :
Assist the CFO in preparing annual program budgets, funding source budgets, and required internal and external reports. Maintain up-to-date budget information in the accounting system and collaborate with Program Managers and the CFO on new and renewal grant applications and amendments.
Presentations & Data :
Support the CFO in preparing Finance Committee presentation materials and agency-wide data collection reports.
Policy Implementation :
Under the CFO's direction, maintain, update, and implement fiscal policies and procedures, recommending improvements as needed. Maintain accounting systems and implement new modules when required.
Additional Duties :
Perform other duties as required by the CFO to support the agency's fiscal goals.
QualificationsPlease note:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is a strict requirement for this role. Applications without this qualification will not be considered.
Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required)
Experience :
Minimum of five years in an accounting role, with hands-on knowledge of not-for-profit accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, GAAP, state and federal contract compliance, and grants management
Core Skills :
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects
Communication & Leadership :
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate others and prepare clear, meaningful financial reports
Technical Proficiency :
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience with BlackBaud accounting software
