Job Description

Our programs span Adult Education & Workforce Development, the Financial REACH Center, Early Childhood Education & Care, Energy Programs, Food & Nutrition Programs, and Housing Programs. When you manage our finances well, you make all of that possible. Why This Role Matters Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you'll lead our General Ledger close processes and financial reporting. You'll oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Grant/Project management, keeping every record accurate and fully compliant with agency procedures, GAAP, and local, state, and federal regulations. Your reports will guide program managers, funding sources, auditors, and our Board of Directors. In short, your work keeps our mission strong, funded, and moving forward. What You'll Do Lead the fiscal team. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fiscal office, offering hands-on support and guidance to the staff who manage our grant and fiscal activities. Own the financials. Manage the general ledger and lead the month-end close. Prepare audit schedules and work directly with external auditors and reviewers under the CFO's direction. Get allocation right. Oversee the payroll cost allocation process, making sure payroll costs and invoices land in the correct contracts, accounts, and budgets—always within regulatory standards. Turn data into decisions. Partner with fiscal staff to prepare monthly budget-versus-actual reports for each program. Review results with program managers and the CFO to control costs, allocate funds wisely, and stretch every dollar. Support our grants and contracts. Help the CFO build annual program budgets, funding source budgets, and required internal and external reports. Keep budget information current in the accounting system, and collaborate with Program Managers and the CFO on new and renewal grant applications and amendments. Tell the financial story. Support the CFO in preparing Finance Committee presentation materials and agency-wide data collection reports. Shape smart policy. Under the CFO's direction, maintain, update, and improve fiscal policies and procedures. Keep our accounting systems running and implement new modules as needed. Pitch in where it counts. Take on other duties as needed to help us reach our fiscal goals. What You'll Bring Please note: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is a strict requirement for this role.
