Job Description
Overview Manage the accounting function and financial controls of a single location motorsports dealership and provide computer technology assistance. The ideal candidate will have at least an Associates degree in accounting with some experience or a strong bookkeeping background from years of experience. In addition, better than average computer and network skills are helpful. Hours are flexible with more time needed after month-end and less time during the month. We use Lightspeed dealership management system with an integrated accounting function and ADP for payroll. Much of the job is identifying exceptions, fixing those exceptions, oversight of financial activities, controlling financial activities and routine reporting. The accounting department consists of a full time accounts payable and inventory control person plus another person that prepares payroll entry and monthly sales tax reports. The Controller directs and oversees these activities. We're a motorsport dealership consisting of motorsport enthusiasts. Duties Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain data integrity. Supervise accounting personnel responsible for accounts payable, inventory control and payroll preparation. Participate in cash flow management. Conduct financial analysis to support expense controls. Coordinate and supervise payroll tax reports, sales tax returns and annual tax return preparation. Maintain personnel files and coordinate employee fringe benefit programs. Proficiency and expertise in Excel spreadsheet development and usage. Good skills in account reconciliation and account analysis.
