This Director level position is responsible for overseeing the mortgage department of the credit union through thoughtful leadership by developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and services that will support our members, organization, and employees. Responsible for expanding the mortgage services program and delivery model across the branch network. Assists members with their mortgage needs, analyzes loan requests, and makes credit decisions based on mortgage lending policy. Accountable for developing and leading the mortgage service team. Actively participates on the leadership team and is a key collaborator with senior leadership.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Directs and monitors mortgage services to ensure goals and objectives are met. Provides strong leadership focused on building relationships with members through selling our products and services. Accountable for expanding the program and establishing a delivery model across the branch network. Leads the mortgage department toward our vision through core values, member relationship building, and fostering an enthusiastic employee environment.
Sells the credit union's mortgage lending program to companies and individuals within the real estate community. Evaluates products and services, ensuring that effective procedures are in place.
Evaluates acceptability of loans to buyers of real estate loans on secondary mortgage markets.
Develops and maintains rapport with buyers in the secondary mortgage market. Sells loans to this market in compliance with credit union policy.
Assists where necessary with mortgage loan process by qualifying buyers, evaluating loan conditions, approval/denial and loan closing.
Participates in strategic planning initiatives and influences business decisions on products and service enhancements, process improvements, and compliance. Participates in and leads the execution of business goals and objectives.
Performs miscellaneous duties including working with information systems to accommodate loan processing needs, developing mortgage loan promotions with marketing staff, and assisting with the collection process when necessary. Stays current on industry trends and developments.
