POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Operations Accounting Manager will be the key liaison between Program Partners and our internal partners, namely Finance, Accounting and Data Team. The Program Operations Accounting Manager will be responsible for coordinating all Partner onboarding activities, ensuring all financial details within the agreements are updated in our systems, and support the Data Team with the monthly data feeds. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of insurance accounting including how the general ledger works, the monthly close process, and account reconciliations, plus experience working with a data warehouse to ensure all data requirements are met. This position also requires excellent communication skills with experience of working with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manages the accounting & finance tasks for due diligence and onboarding new programs: Assists data team for evaluation of data feeds to/from programs; Actively participates in external onboarding calls and meetings; Ensures general ledger, program codes, and experience reports are set up timely; Ensures all applicable bank accounts are set up and funded appropriately; Trains program accountants and ceded accountants on program structure and setup Maintains and updates program documentation including process flows; Supports accounting on program accounting memos; Assists with coordinating the monthly close tasks list for Program Partners including resolving any issues; Assists with escalated communication with customers or vendors on accounting issues, including outstanding receivables; Works closely with internal accounting auditor to maintain accounting accuracy and efficiency; Utilizes standard reporting tools as well as validates new reporting tools as needed; Collaborates with accounting team members and the broader accounting team on all Program related activities; Collaborates with data warehouse team on monthly tasks; Works closely with external auditors, partners, and internal staff members to complete requests; Performs other activities, duties and assignments as needed or requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience 3+ years' experience in insurance and reinsurance accounting required Progressive accounting responsibility Experience in troubleshooting and resolving accounting and data issues Working knowledge of insurance systems (policy & claim) preferred Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner Excellent oral and written communication skills Attention to detail and organizational skills Strong sense of accountability, comfortable making recommendations and taking accountability for outcomes Working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems such as Microsoft GP, Microsoft Power BI, and Prospero Knowledge of best internal control practices and GAAP and STAT policies required Ability to meet deadlines in a multi-priority, fast-paced environment both independently and within a team environment Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Advanced skills in Excel (Formulas like INDEX-MATCH and OFFSET, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, reading and writing MACROS)

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is located in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires the physical demands of a normal office position with some light lifting. This is a full-time position with benefits.
