The Financial Management Career Field would be a good fit for you if you're majoring in Finance, Accounting, Business Administrion, or Economics. As an intern in the Financial Management career field, you part of the essential team th ensures the agency's financial integrity and enables mission success through sound fiscal stewardship. This field is responsible for all aspects of the agency's financial health, from accounting and finance to the entire budget process. While your specific placement determined by mission needs, this internship will provide you with exposure to the critical functions th underpin the agency's financial program.

Potential roles include:

• Accountant:

  Performs accounting and financial processes aligned with federal standards. This role focuses on recording and reporting financial activity, ensuring the quality and accuracy of financial stements, and working directly with auditing teams.

• Financial Analyst:

  Researches a wide range of financial issues and evalues opering stements to determine financial soundness and efficiency. This role also processes financial transactions, such as pay and travel entitlements and contractor invoices.

Budget Analyst:

Works within all phases of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. This role is responsible for formuling, analyzing, and executing the agency's financial program and making recommendions on budget requests.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to SCI. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examinion in order to maintain access to Top Secret informion. All employees are subject to a periodic examinion on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examinion may result in denial of access to Top Secret informion, SAP, or unescorted access to SCIFs. Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualificions. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluion is a key factor in the performance pay process. This position is a DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandory Qualificion Criteria to include educion (if required).
