Job Description

Disability Resource Association (DRA) is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Financial Administrator to join our team in Festus, Missouri. The Financial Administrator plays a vital role in the financial operations of our nonprofit organization and is responsible for managing the organization's accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance functions. This position works closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to ensure the financial integrity of the organization while supporting multiple grant-funded programs. We are looking for an experienced professional who is organized, self-motivated, maintains a high level of accuracy, and enjoys working independently in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities The Financial Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the organization, including but not limited to: Maintain the general ledger and all financial records using QuickBooks. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable. Prepare bank deposits and monitor daily banking activity. Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements. Manage payroll processing, payroll liabilities, and payroll tax filings. Complete federal and state payroll reporting, including quarterly and annual tax filings. Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for the Board of Directors. Assist with the development and monitoring of the organization's annual budget. Track grant expenditures and prepare required financial reports. Prepare documentation and reports for the annual financial audit. Monitor program balances and financial activity across multiple programs. Process Medicaid-related payments and maintain supporting documentation. Coordinate employee benefit and insurance renewals, including health insurance and commercial insurance policies. Maintain financial records in compliance with federal, state, grant, and organizational requirements. Maintain financial files, supporting documentation, and required records for audits and regulatory agencies. Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and leadership team on financial planning and organizational needs. Qualifications Required Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field. Experience using QuickBooks. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience processing payroll and payroll taxes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Experience with nonprofit accounting. Experience with grant accounting and financial reporting. Experience preparing reports for Boards of Directors. Experience coordinating or assisting with annual audits. Familiarity with employee benefits administration and insurance renewals.
