Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries, debits & credits, and account analyses are accurately recorded using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems. Process payroll and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections. Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify financial accuracy. Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analyses aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manage bookkeeping activities with precision, including double-entry bookkeeping and account analysis for various departments or projects. Assist with budgeting processes by compiling data from spreadsheets and financial software to support strategic planning. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain thorough documentation for audits or internal reviews. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within corporate or non-profit environments. Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is essential. Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP standards, technical accounting concepts, and general ledger reconciliation procedures. Skilled in spreadsheet management using Excel or similar tools for account analysis, budgeting, and financial report writing. Familiarity with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable workflows, bank reconciliation, and journal entries. Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks like bank reconciliations and account analysis. Excellent understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger accounting practices. Strong attention to detail combined with effective communication skills to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
