This role will oversee the accounting team, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintain strong accounting processes and internal controls. The ideal candidate has experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and is comfortable balancing hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership. Responsibilities Oversee accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, collections, aging, billing disputes, credit limits, and payment trends. Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor invoices, freight bills, carrier payments, and recurring expenses. Ensure invoices and payments are properly supported, approved, coded, and recorded. Coordinate monthly and annual close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and allocations. Support new customer setup and credit approval processes. Maintain appropriate controls over bank accounts, credit cards, ACH payments, and other disbursements. Identify and implement accounting process and system improvements in partnership with other departments. Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff while establishing clear expectations and accountability. Review accounting work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures. Serve as a key accounting resource for operations and company leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including A/R, order-to-cash, or related financial operations. Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing accounting or A/R teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets. CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred, but not required.
