In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire revenue cycle—from patient registration and medical billing to collections and accounts receivable management. Your expertise will ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including commercial and federal payers, streamline billing procedures, and maximize revenue recovery. Duties Manage and oversee the full revenue cycle process, including patient registration, insurance verification, coding, billing, collections, and accounts receivable follow-up. Ensure compliance with all relevant medical billing regulations such as Medicare, Medicaid, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding standards, and healthcare laws. Supervise billing staff and coordinate team activities to maintain high productivity levels while fostering a collaborative work environment. Monitor and analyze revenue cycle metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for enhanced cash flow and reduced denials. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate electronic health records (EHR) management and proper medical coding practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance policies, third-party payer requirements, and hospital revenue cycle management best practices. Utilize billing software and Microsoft Office tools to generate reports, track performance indicators, and support financial decision-making processes. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to medical billing regulations and Medicaid/Medicare regulations compliance. Develop training programs for staff on healthcare billing management, insurance procedures, and regulatory updates. Experience Proven experience in hospital revenue cycle management or healthcare billing management roles. Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, Medicare regulations, Medicaid regulations, and third-party payer systems. Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively within a fast-paced healthcare environment. Expertise in electronic health records (EHR) management systems and billing software applications including Athena, Simple Practice and EPIC. Solid understanding of medical coding practices including ICD coding standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external payers. Familiarity with healthcare regulations compliance requirements related to medical billing and revenue cycle processes.
