Job Description
Overview Manages financial operations including but not limited to project profitability, revenue recognition, inventory, intercompany, sales and use tax compliance, fixed assets and treasury/banking operations by recording, monitoring and approving transactions and processes, including supervising two Accountants directly and two Accounting Specialists indirectly. Responsibilities Review project profitability reports and update cost estimates as needed in the ERP, make deferred revenue entries for revenue recognition. Review and prepare/post entries as needed for inventory, intercompany, cash/bank accounts, sales and use tax compliance and fixed assets, including reconciliation of sub-ledgers to the general ledger. Prepare and enter or oversee accruals for installs, freight, commissions, and sales taxes. Post sub-ledgers to the general ledger and posts reconciling journal entries to balance & close the general ledger each month. Manage accounting staff. Perform a wide variety of general accounting functions including preparation, review, and approval of journal entries, month-end closing processes, year-end schedules and reports, quarterly and annual tax and other reports, debt schedules, independent audit coordination, assists auditors from other agencies, budget monitoring, and chart of accounts control. Prepare and assist with completion of the monthly financial statements and management book. Evaluate, develop and implement cash management systems to optimize efficiencies. Prepare and distribute monthly commission reports. Forecast daily cash requirements and execute daily financing decisions. Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year end close. Perform and oversee annual audit. Maintain Chart of Accounts. Establish credit terms and requirements for vendors. Prepare various ad hoc financial reports and analyses. Maintain subsidiary fixed asset and equipment ledgers. Process improvement; Implement new processes and systems such as T&E review process. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA Preferred. Proven technical accounting in a fast-paced environment like publicly traded or P/E owned company. Revenue recognition and cost accounting; Construction &/or Manufacturing industry experience. Track record of being detail-oriented, able to prioritize, timely, and confident in the work being produced. Excellent at delegating, managing, developing, and overseeing the work of accounting team members. Able to orchestrate and drive ME close; perform & oversee journal entries and account reconciliations. Takes initiative and takes on tasks that come into the department independently with little supervision. Savvy with accounting systems, MS Excel & MS Access. Made 2 Manage and OneStream experience a plus. Prior experience responding timely to auditor and corporate requests. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
