The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Duties Review and verify patient information for accuracy before billing Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government programs Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries Maintain accurate records of billing activities and post payments received and pay credits owed in a timely, efficient manner Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies related to billing practices Stay updated on changes in medical billing codes and insurance policies Insure the physician in the practice is credentialed both with insurance companies and medical boards and keep track of continuing education for the provider Be familiar with and be able to report to MIPS Communicate with the office accountant on a weekly basis with accurate reports of collections and reimbursements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Proven hands on experience in medical billing is
REQUIRED.
Ophthalmic billing experience is a plus Knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance processes Proficient in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
