full-time Our global insurance client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a large, established insurance organization. This individual will play a key leadership role within the accounting and financial reporting function, overseeing month-end close, regulatory reporting, internal controls, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will come directly from a large insurance company and possess a strong foundation in public accounting, preferably with a Big 4 background and active CPA designation. This role requires a highly technical accounting professional with strong leadership skills, insurance industry expertise, and the ability to leverage ERP and financial systems to drive process improvements and operational excellence. Responsibilities Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with

U.S. GAAP.

Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of insurance-related transactions, reserves, premiums, claims, and reinsurance activities. Partner with FP&A, actuarial, treasury, compliance, and operational teams across the organization. Support statutory reporting requirements and regulatory filings. Lead external audits and coordinate with internal auditors and external accounting firms. Maintain and strengthen SOX controls and overall internal control environment. Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and system enhancements. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff. Assist with special projects, acquisitions, integrations, and strategic finance initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA required; Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience. Prior experience working within a large insurance carrier required. Strong understanding of insurance accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements. Experience with U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting (STAT), and SOX compliance preferred. Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and cross-functional projects. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Background Big 4 Audit or Assurance experience with insurance clients. Experience working within a publicly traded or large national insurance organization. Exposure to property & casualty, life, health, or specialty insurance accounting. Strong track record of improving controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
