full-time Accounting Manager | AI, Payments & Financial Software | New York Build the Finance Function Behind a Fast Growing Technology Platform We're building an AI-powered operating platform that brings finance, accounting, payments, sales and operations together in one system for growing businesses. The platform helps customers replace fragmented financial workflows with a more connected and automated way of running their businesses. With finance and payments sitting at the core of the product, the company operates at the intersection of AI, financial software and fintech. The business is growing quickly, with a lean team in New York and plenty still to build. This is a chance to join at an important stage of growth and have a genuine say in how the Finance function, systems and processes develop. The Role We're looking for an Accounting Manager to take ownership of the core accounting function while helping build the financial infrastructure needed for the next stage of growth. You'll have broad exposure across accounting, financial systems, payments, reporting and controls, working directly with leadership and partnering with Product, Engineering and other teams across the business. For someone coming from fintech, financial software, payments, AI or high-growth SaaS, this offers the opportunity to bring that experience into a role where you can have real ownership and build rather than inherit.
What You'll Do:
Accounting & Financial Operations Own the day-to-day accounting function across GL, AP, AR, payroll and expenses. Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes. Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting. Maintain strong accounting controls and US GAAP compliance. Own and improve billing, collections and other core financial processes. Financial Infrastructure & Payments Build the accounting infrastructure and controls required as the platform scales. Partner with Product and Engineering on financial systems, billing functionality and payment workflows. Develop processes around customer payments, transaction flows and reconciliation. Evaluate and improve ERP, accounting and financial technology systems. Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and make Finance more efficient. Planning & Business Partnership Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. Track key financial metrics and provide insight into business performance. Partner with Operations, Sales and Product on new initiatives. Coordinate audits, tax matters and external advisors. Support investor reporting, fundraising diligence and broader finance projects. What You'll Bring 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting. Experience owning or playing a significant role in month-end close. Strong Excel skills and experience with modern accounting or ERP systems. Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being built. Interest in financial technology, automation and using technology to improve Finance. Backgrounds of Interest We're particularly interested in people who have worked within: Fintech and payments Financial software Payments infrastructure B2B SaaS AI software Accounting, billing or finance automation High-growth technology businesses Startup or venture-backed experience is valuable, particularly where you've had significant ownership, built processes from scratch or helped scale a finance function.
