full-time A real estate investment firm is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee property-level accounting across a portfolio of real estate investments, while also supporting fund-level reporting and investment accounting. This role will be heavily focused on property accounting, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate properties and related investment entities. Manage monthly and quarterly property-level close processes, including review of general ledger activity, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements. Maintain and review accounting records within Yardi and ensure accuracy across property and entity-level reporting. Prepare and review property-level budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and cash flow projections. Oversee cash management, including property-level funding requirements, vendor payments, distributions, and intercompany activity. Review operating statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness. Partner with asset management and investment teams to analyze property performance, operating results, and portfolio trends. Support fund-level accounting, NAV reporting, capital activity, and investor distributions as needed. Assist with year-end valuations, audits, and tax reporting in coordination with external accounting and tax firms. Review partnership, debt, and management agreements to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance. Coordinate with third-party property managers, fund administrators, custodians, and outsourced accounting teams. Supervise and develop accounting staff and outsourced resources. Qualifications Strong property accounting experience within commercial real estate, real estate private equity, property management, or a related environment. Hands-on Yardi experience is required. Experience with monthly close, property financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and variance analysis. Exposure to real estate fund accounting, NAV reporting, capital activity, or investor reporting is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
as it relates to real estate investments and property accounting. Experience working with asset management, property management, and investment teams. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple properties, entities, and reporting deadlines.
