Accounting Manager Job Summary Position:
reporting to the Director of Finance; full-time, exempt, 100% on-site (Newark, NJ)Compensation:
$110,000-$120,000 base salary (cap at $120K) plus up to 10% quarterly bonus based on company-wide KPIs.PTO:
20 days of PTO annually; no separate sick leave.Leadership:
Manage one direct report (Staff Accountant/Office Manager).Primary focus:
Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.Manufacturing expertise:
Maintain standard costing, analyze BOMs and production variances, oversee inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods), and partner with plant operations to improve profitability.Financial responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; manage general ledger, reconciliations, bank reconciliations, collections, credit approvals, and promotion accruals. Compliance & controls: Ensure GAAP compliance, strengthen internal controls, support audits, develop system controls, and train staff on accounting procedures.Cross-functional collaboration:
Work closely with finance, operations, supply chain, engineering, sales, and executive leadership. Education & credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred .Experience:
Minimum 5 years as Management Accountant and 5+ years of ERP experience , preferably SAP Business One (SAP B1) .Industry preference:
Candidates with food & beverage manufacturing experience are strongly preferred.Key skills:
Strong analytical, leadership, planning, problem-solving, communication, Excel, ERP, GAAP/FASB knowledge, and a continuous improvement mindset.Benefits
