Renewable The Company:

We have partnered with a leading distributed generation solar developer, financier, owner, and operator, in their search for an Investments Associate . This company is fully focused on the North American DG solar sector and manages a 400+ MW portfolio of operating projects, primarily across the Northeast and Midwest. Backed by a global investment firm with almost $20 billion in assets under management, the company is continuing to grow its solar and battery storage portfolio.

The Role:

The Investments Associate will join the company's Investments team, supporting project finance, M&A, and capital raising activities across its solar and battery storage portfolio. This is a highly analytical role focused on financial modeling, investment underwriting, transaction execution, and capital markets. The successful candidate will work closely with lenders, tax equity investors, capital providers, senior management, and internal teams throughout the investment and financing process.

Key Responsibilities:
Investment & Financial Analysis:

Underwrite solar and battery storage investment opportunities, evaluating project economics, key financial drivers, returns, and investment risks, Develop and maintain complex financial models and valuation analyses, including DCF, precedent transaction analysis, tax equity structures, and debt financing, Conduct market research and analysis across the distributed generation solar and storage sector, identifying trends and opportunities across project finance, M&A, and capital markets.

Project Finance & Capital Raising:

Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of project debt and tax equity financings from term sheet through financial close, Prepare lender and investor materials and coordinate financial and commercial due diligence throughout financing processes, Engage directly with lenders, tax equity investors, and other capital providers, Support day-to-day execution of M&A and capital raising transactions, working with management teams, lenders, investors, counterparties, and external advisors.

Transaction & Investment Execution:

Prepare presentations and investment materials for executive management, Investment Committee, and external financing partners, Present investment opportunities and analysis to the internal Investment Committee, Collaborate with legal, engineering, and other internal teams to ensure successful execution of renewable energy investments and capital raises, Manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or another analytical field; Master's degree with a concentration in Finance or Energy preferred, 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, project finance, or an energy-related field, Strong financial modeling, underwriting, and analytical skills, with experience in credit analysis and valuation, Working knowledge of renewable energy markets, technologies, and regulatory environments, Understanding of project finance debt and tax equity structures, Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and external capital providers, Ability to manage multiple transactions under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail, High level of initiative, integrity, and teamwork.
