Accounting Manager Academica Nevada Make an Impact in Education Finance Academica Nevada is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team in the Reno or Las Vegas area. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with charter school leaders and governing boards while supporting the financial success of public charter schools across Nevada. About the Role As an Accounting Manager, you will serve as a trusted financial resource to charter schools by overseeing financial reporting, supporting sound decision-making, and helping ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting and Accounting
- Ensure the timely preparation and review of financial statements for internal and external reporting.
- Analyze financial results and communicate relevant information to school leadership and governing boards.
- Prepare journal entries needed to accurately record financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts and support accurate, complete financial records.
- Apply GAAP, GASB, and other applicable reporting requirements. Board and School Support
- Serve as Academica's financial representative at public governing board meetings.
- Present financial statements and other finance-related agenda items to multiple boards of directors.
- Build productive relationships with school administrators, office managers, and board members.
- Provide training and ongoing support to school office managers and staff. Audit and Other Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison with outside auditors during the year-end audit and for other projects as needed.
- Support financial compliance, internal controls, and accounting process improvements.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. QualificationsRequired
- Experience analyzing financial statements and a strong understanding of finance concepts, GAAP, and GASB.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of personalities and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
