full-time Accounting Manager (Uniondale, NY) An established mid-size law firm is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its finance team. This position reports directly to senior finance leadership and offers the opportunity to oversee accounting operations while managing and developing staff in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members. Manage month-end close activities and financial reporting. Ensure accuracy and integrity of the firm's accounting system. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses. Oversee banking, treasury functions, and daily cash management. Coordinate escrow and trust account activity with financial institutions and internal stakeholders. Supervise accounts payable processing and employee expense reimbursements. Manage payroll-related accounting and reporting. Administer retirement plan funding and related accounting activities. Assist with partner compensation calculations, reporting, and expense tracking. Support annual financial statement reviews and benefit plan audits. Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives. Handle special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 4+ years of accounting experience. 2+ years of supervisory or management experience. Experience within a law firm or other professional services environment. Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as Aderant or Elite. Experience with payroll and expense management platforms is a plus. Advanced Excel skills.
