Job Description

Accounting Manager Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to assess key accounting and financial functions within our organization. This position will play an integral role in maintaining accurate financial records, developing budgets and forecasts, overseeing payroll processes, managing general ledger activity, and providing financial insight to support operational decision-making. Key Responsibilities Annual budgeting process in collaboration with property and department leadership. Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts. Analyze actual financial results against budget and forecast and identify significant variances. Monitor financial performance and proactively identify trends that may impact profitability. Oversee and review payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and timely. Review payroll reports, deductions, taxes, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related transactions. Partner with Human Resources to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate employee information. Reconcile payroll to the general ledger. Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports. Prepare budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual variance reports. Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate findings to leadership. Develop reports and financial tools that help department managers better understand and manage their financial performance. Support ownership and executive leadership with financial information and special projects as requested. Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collection efforts when necessary. Review vendor statements and assist in resolving discrepancies. Maintain appropriate documentation and financial controls. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and other financial reviews. Ensure accounting records and supporting documentation are maintained appropriately. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and overall efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience Previous supervisory or accounting management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll. Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and organize financial data. Experience with accounting, payroll, and hospitality management systems preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial managers. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling payroll, employee, and company financial information.
