This role reports to the CFO and owns day‑to‑day fiscal execution in a compliance‑driven environment. This position is on‑site and is not a remote or hybrid role. Primary Responsibilities Own month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting with a focus on consistency and audit‑readiness Oversee accounting for multiple federal, state, and local grants with overlapping reporting requirements Ensure ongoing compliance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance (Single Audit experience required) Prepare financial reports used by leadership, Board members, and funders Provide hands‑on coaching and clear expectations for accounting staff Partner with non‑finance program leaders to ensure budgets are understood and followed Maintain strong internal controls and documented processes Support audits and funder reviews without last‑minute remediation Oversee accounting for affiliated housing or related entities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a nonprofit, government, or grant‑funded setting Demonstrated experience with Uniform Guidance and Single Audit requirements Prior staff supervision experience Strong attention to detail and deadline discipline CPA or equivalent depth of experience strongly preferred.
