Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance and Accounting Manager to oversee the company's day-to-day accounting and financial administration. This position will work under the direction of company leadership, supporting the three principals with accurate financial information, reliable accounting processes, and administration of payroll, benefits, and profit-sharing.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling daily accounting responsibilities while helping leadership review financial performance and plan for future needs. Experience in an engineering, consulting, or other professional services firm is preferred. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations. Prepare timely monthly financial reports and review results with company leadership. Monitor cash flow, outstanding invoices, and expenses, keeping invoice receipts current Coordinate client billing and maintain accurate project numbers and accounting records in collaboration with project managers. Review employee time records and payroll for accuracy and proper project allocation. Administer employee benefits and support profit-sharing administration in coordination with leadership and outside providers. Coordinate insurance renewals for medical and professional liability supporting leadership's review of coverage and costs. Work with the outside CPA firm quarterly and at year-end to reconcile accounts, review financial statements, and support tax preparation. Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Maintain appropriate financial controls, confidential records, and documented accounting procedures. Provide direction to employees performing accounting and related administrative tasks, as assigned. Serve as a resource for employee questions about payroll and benefits, coordinating with outside providers as needed. Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Demonstrated experience managing accounting and financial administration for a small or midsize business. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Experience with payroll review, employee benefits administration, and time-tracking systems. Familiarity with project-based accounting, client billing, and labor cost tracking preferred. Ability to prepare clear financial reports and communicate results to company leadership. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information. Ability to work collaboratively with company leaders, project managers, employees, and outside financial advisors. Pay:
$48.00 - $54.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
