Position Overview The Finance Department Assistant supports the Finance Manager in the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the finance department. This is not a purely clerical role — the ideal candidate brings a working understanding of financial concepts, dealership finance operations, or a demonstrated ability to learn financial processes quickly. This person keeps the department organized, accurate, and moving while the Finance Manager focuses on deal structure, lender relationships, and strategic financial oversight.

$70,000 - $90,000 DOE Primary Responsibilities Administrative & Operational Support Manage the Finance Manager's calendar, scheduling, and correspondence Organize and maintain financial files, deal jackets, contracts, and compliance documents Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations as directed by the Finance Manager Track deadlines, follow-ups, and outstanding items across active deals and departmental projects Coordinate communication between the finance department and other dealership departments including sales, service, and management Order and manage office supplies and departmental administrative needs Support onboarding and training coordination for new finance department staff as needed Finance & Deal Support Assist with the preparation and processing of finance and insurance (F&I) documentation Review deal packets for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to lenders Track deal funding status and follow up on outstanding or unwound deals Maintain accurate records of lender submissions, approvals, and funding timelines Support compliance tracking and ensure documentation meets lender and regulatory requirements Assist with month-end reporting, reconciliation support, and departmental performance tracking Pull and organize financial data and reports from the dealership management system (DMS) as requested
Qualifications Required:
2+ years of administrative, office management, or coordinator experience Demonstrated ability to work with financial documents, data, or reporting Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and problem-solve without constant direction
Preferred:
Experience in automotive, RV, or dealership finance operations Familiarity with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion, or similar) Background in F&I, lending, or financial services Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field Physical & Additional Requirements Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk and computer Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally To apply or learn more: katie@morriganemployment.com | 503-849-0195
