Send job Job Details Interim Finance Manager Lancaster 4-month FTC Hybrid Full-time or 30+ hours We're working with a high-growth technology business in Lancaster to recruit an Interim Finance Manager for an initial four-month fixed-term contract, with a strong possibility of the role extending beyond this. The business has received significant investment and is entering an exciting period of growth and development. As part of this, the finance team is undertaking a major automation and systems improvement project, redesigning and streamlining a number of its core finance processes. This role has been created to make sure the day-to-day finance function continues to run smoothly while the permanent team dedicates time to that programme. It's a hands-on role in a relatively lean finance function, so we're looking for somebody who is comfortable getting stuck into the detail, taking ownership and keeping everything moving. What you'll be doingYou'll take responsibility for much of the day-to-day finance cycle, including: Producing monthly management accounts and commentary P&L reporting and variance analysis Balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts Managing the purchase, sales and nominal ledgers Preparing and reviewing VAT returns Payment runs and banking controls Bank reconciliations Payroll coordination, journals and reconciliations Sales invoicing and credit control Intercompany accounting and reconciliations Cash flow reporting and short-term forecasting Fixed assets and capitalised development costs Supporting budgeting and reforecasting Supporting year-end audit and liaising with external advisers Maintaining strong finance processes, controls and documentation Working closely with operational and senior stakeholders across the business There will also be periods where you'll provide broader cover across the finance function, so you'll need to be confident working fairly autonomously when required. About youWe're looking for a qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA - with strong hands-on management accounting experience. You'll ideally have: Experience producing management accounts from start to finish Strong balance sheet, VAT, payroll and transactional finance knowledge Experience working within a smaller, growing or fast-paced business Confidence working with senior stakeholders Strong Excel skills Good technical accounting knowledge Experience of group or intercompany accounting A practical, proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership Experience within technology, R D tax claims, finance automation or systems improvement would be useful, but isn't essential. Initial 4-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend
Location:
Lancaster Working pattern: Hybrid - at least one day per week from home, potentially two
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, although the business may consider somebody looking for around 30 hours
