Job Description

Salimetrics is seeking a hands-on Finance leader with strong accounting capability and an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented approach to leadership and business decision-making. Our primary hiring target is a Manager of Finance / Controller who can grow into broader Finance leadership and potentially progress to Director of Finance within approximately 12-24 months, based on demonstrated performance, expanded scope, companywide contribution, and business need. Candidates with established Director-level capability will also be considered. The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day Finance function while remaining actively engaged in the work. This position combines accounting and financial discipline with forecasting, analysis, process improvement, team development, and increasing contribution to company planning and decision-making. About Salimetrics Salimetrics is an established, growth-oriented life science company supporting researchers through saliva collection products, assay kits, laboratory testing services, and scientific study support. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly close, reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, and accounting-process discipline. Support accurate accounting across revenue, expenses, cash, AP/AR, inventory, payroll, and benefits-related activity. Prepare budgets, forecasts, financial models, variance analyses, and management reporting. Evaluate revenue, margin, costs, staffing, investment, cash, working capital, and other business implications. Identify trends, opportunities, financial risks, and operating variances and recommend practical actions. Lead functional Finance use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related process improvements. Coordinate tax, banking, insurance, audit, payroll, benefits, and outside-advisor activities. Review customer and vendor documents within assigned authority and coordinate assigned shared-service providers. Lead, coach, and develop Finance employees. Provide increasingly decision-ready financial information for Leadership Team and Board review. The Candidate The strongest candidate will bring: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. Progressive Finance and accounting experience with responsibility for close, reporting, reconciliations, and financial-process reliability. Strong accounting fundamentals with growing capability in budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, modeling, and financial analysis. The ability to translate financial information into useful recommendations and business decisions. An entrepreneurial, growth-oriented, player-coach leadership approach. Experience leading employees, Finance processes, projects, outside providers, or cross-functional initiatives. Experience in a small or mid-sized operating company. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is preferred. CPA, CMA, MBA, advanced Finance training, or equivalent senior Finance experience is beneficial. Experience with inventory, products, services, manufacturing, laboratory operations, life sciences, or another operationally complex business is also beneficial. Leadership and Growth Opportunity The selected candidate is expected to build strong business knowledge, establish credibility across the company, and contribute increasingly to Leadership Team planning and decision-making. Progression to Director of Finance may occur within approximately 12-24 months when performance, expanded responsibility, companywide contribution, and business need support Director-level placement. Compensation and Benefits The expected hiring range for the Manager of Finance / Controller position is $90,000-$105,000, with placement based on experience and demonstrated capability. Director-level candidates may be considered separately based on qualifications and scope.
