Job Description

Full-time | In person | West Chester, PA | $65,000-$75,000, based on experience VRA is seeking a hands-on accounting professional to manage the day-to-day books and financial reporting for a group of related real estate businesses led by the founder. The work spans real estate brokerage, title and settlement, property ownership and management, and private real estate lending funds. This is an in-office role for someone who enjoys getting the details right and can also tell leadership what the numbers mean. You will work directly with the founder and the operations team to keep each entity's books accurate, track cash and obligations, and build a dependable monthly reporting process. What you'll own Maintain accurate books across multiple entities, bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and properties. Reconcile accounts and complete a timely monthly close, with clear financial statements and supporting schedules. Review and code bills, contractor invoices, receipts, reimbursements, and intercompany transactions to the correct entity and property. Track renovation and project costs, rental property performance, debt payments, and upcoming cash needs. Support the accounting for private lending activity, including loan funding, draws, interest, payoffs, and investor-related transactions, in coordination with the fund team and outside professionals. Reconcile property-management activity in AppFolio with the general ledger and investigate discrepancies. Prepare practical reports for leadership on cash, payables, receivables, property costs, and entity performance. Organize records and schedules for tax preparers, lenders, and other outside advisors. Improve controls and workflows so invoices are documented, payments are traceable, and questions can be answered without rebuilding the history each time. What we're looking for At least five years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, including reconciliations and month-end close. Experience keeping books for multiple entities; real estate, property management, construction, lending, or title experience is strongly preferred. Strong QuickBooks and Excel or Google Sheets skills. AppFolio experience is a plus. Comfort moving between detailed transaction work and clear conversations with business owners. We care more about demonstrated ownership of accurate books and useful reporting. Location and compensation This position works in person at our West Chester, Pennsylvania office .
