Job Summary:
Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is growing! A well-established and leading law firm specializing in the representation of homeowner, condominium, and community associations is seeking an Accounting Manager for our Lincolnshire office, with 5+ years of experience. The starting salary for this position is $90,000 annually, contingent up level of experience. KSN offers a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, medical expense reimbursement program, short and long-term disability, basic life/AD & D coverage, voluntary life insurance, critical illness, accident, hospital, and a retirement plan for eligible employees. The business hours for this exempt position are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and it follows a 35-hour workweek. The position requires a minimum of 60 days of in-office training. After successful completion, the role may transition to a hybrid schedule. The schedule will be determined by the manager once training is completed. Kovitz-Shifrin-Nesbit/Accounting-Manager Duties/Responsibilities:
The Accounting Manager is expected to both learn and perform the functions of every position in the Accounting Department, as well as perform those functions when required. Banking & Cash Management Oversee banking activity and perform/review monthly bank reconciliations for all firm operating accounts. Reconcile firm credit card accounts on a monthly basis. Accounts Payable Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. Financial Reporting & Audit Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Coordinate and serve as primary point of contact for external audits. Coordinate tax filings with the firm's outside accountants, ensuring timely submission of required documentation. Fixed Assets & Budgeting Maintain the fixed asset ledger, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules. Assist in the preparation of the firm's annual budget and monitor actual performance against budget throughout the year.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting. Prior experience coordinating external audits and working with outside tax accountants. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP software. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage budgeting and monthly close processes. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with vendors and firm leadership. High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential financial information. _______________________________________________
