Assistant Controller Job Opportunity We are partnering with a well-established, multi-location organization in the Atlanta area to identify an Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with Big 4 or strong public accounting experience who is ready to take on a visible leadership role within a corporate accounting environment. The Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting functions, lead the month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation processes, manage two Staff Accountants, and work closely with the Assistant Controller and Controller on financial reporting, internal controls, systems, and process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Manage and support the monthly close process, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the general ledger and financial statements Review accounting activity related to inventory, cash, accruals, prepaids, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts Lead the company's balance sheet reconciliation process Prepare and review journal entries, supporting schedules, reconciliations, and monthly reporting Manage and develop two Staff Accountants Maintain strong internal controls and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records Coordinate financial information and documentation for external auditors, tax consultants, governmental agencies, and other outside parties Partner with the Assistant Controller and Controller on accounting policies, procedures, controls, and financial systems Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve the efficiency of the monthly close Partner cross-functionally to improve business processes, reporting, and systems Assist with special projects and accounting initiatives as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA strongly preferred Big 4 or public accounting experience strongly preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience At least 2 years of public accounting experience preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls Previous experience leading or developing accounting professionals strongly preferred Experience within a multi-location organization preferred Retail or other high-volume transactional industry experience is a plus Experience with high-volume cash reconciliations Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements Experience with accounting systems implementations or enhancements Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) experience highly preferred Why Consider This Opportunity?
