full-time Accounting Manager Chicago, IL (Hybrid) A large, well-established trade association is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations across its entity structure, including for-profit and not-for-profit subsidiaries. This role owns financial reporting, close processes, and internal controls, while playing a leadership role in an ongoing NetSuite implementation. A strong fit for a CPA who wants a broad, hands-on role with real influence over process and systems, plus direct team leadership. Highlights Base salary up to $160K plus bonus Hybrid schedule in downtown Chicago Leadership role in an active NetSuite implementation Exposure to venture capital and private equity investment reporting Team leadership and development responsibilities Well-established, mission-driven organization with strong stability Responsibilities Oversee month-end and year-end close to ensure timely, accurate financial statements Prepare and review financial reports for management and external stakeholders in accordance with GAAP Maintain and improve the general ledger, reviewing reconciliations across bank accounts, investments, and fixed assets Coordinate and manage external audit processes Collaborate with the organization's venture capital arm on private equity and venture debt investment reporting Play a leadership role in the ongoing NetSuite implementation, driving system enhancements and process integration Supervise and mentor Financial Reporting and Accounting staff Develop and maintain internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions, partnering closely with the VP of FP&A Support cash flow management, working capital optimization, and M&A activity as needed Requirements CPA required Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA a plus 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience Supervisory or management experience a plus Experience with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation Big Four or large accounting firm experience a plus Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling Proficiency with NetSuite ERP required Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau a plus A strong opportunity for an accounting leader who wants broad scope, real systems ownership, and direct exposure to strategic finance work.
