Job Description

There's something oddly reassuring about replacing someone who stayed at a firm for over 40 years. In public accounting, that's basically the equivalent of finding a restaurant owner that's had the same regulars since 1976. It usually means the place is doing something right. This firm sits in the sweet spot. Big enough that you're not fixing printers. Small enough that you still know everyone's name. 55 hour busy seasons. Summer Friday early finishes. Genuine flexibility around your day. Long standing staff everywhere you look. They need someone to lead the financial statement side of the business. Compilations, reviews, peer review, financial statement prep and design. Tax exposure would help too, but this is really about becoming the go to person for the financial statement work. The firm has grown heavily over the last 3 to 4 years, mostly by picking up clients leaving bigger firms wanting something a bit more human. 5 Partners. Strong retention. Actual Partner track. Not a churn and burn CPA firm. Just nice people doing good work for their clients. You'll likely have a strong accounting background in a CPA firm. If you know the difference between a 1040 and an 1120s that would be an added bonus. Here's the part most people get wrong: you don't need to tick every box to introduce yourself. The apply button is not legally binding. Worst case? We chat, decide the timing isn't right, and you carry on. Best case? You bag yourself a fantastic new position. Prefer the human touch? Splendid. Ring me up. I'm at 646-540-9647. Sometimes Indeed hides my number. If they're sneaky like that, you'll find my details on LinkedIn. I'm Arran Jaiswal at Distinct North America. Also, I get it can be hard to talk with the fear of your Managing Partner walking past your office. I'm around early (6am EST) and after-hours too.
