  • $105,000
  • Hybrid, 3 days/week in Roseville, CA A Little Spice Goes a Long Way Paprika Partners is a boutique financial firm built for a new generation of business owners.
The ambitious owner-operators, the diverse founders, and the unconventional builders who deserve the same quality of financial partnership as the big guys. We provide bookkeeping, accounting, advisory, and fractional CFO services for businesses ranging from $2M-$20M in revenue. We're not a corporate shop. We move fast, we think in systems, we geek out on AI and technology, and we show up as real human beings who genuinely care whether our clients win. Our team is small, deeply collaborative, and building something we're all proud of, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that.
The Role:
As a CAS Accounting Manager at Paprika Partners, you sit at the intersection of accounting excellence and client partnership. CAS (Client Accounting Services) means more than just keeping books. You're the person clients trust to keep their financial operations running at a high level while also being the relationship anchor that keeps them confident, informed, and well-served. You'll oversee the full accounting function for a portfolio of owner-operated businesses, including managing close, AP/AR, journal entries, accruals, and everything in between. You'll work collaboratively with our bookkeepers, staff accountants, fellow accounting managers, controllers, and fractional CFOs to deliver best-in-class service at every level of the engagement. This role demands someone who is equally strong on the technical side and the people side. You need to be able to roll up your sleeves and get into the numbers just as comfortably as you can sit across from a business owner and speak those numbers on the spreadsheet. This is a full-time hybrid role, with 3 days per week in our Roseville, CA office and flexibility the remaining days.
What You'll Do:
Client & Account Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, acting the face of Paprika on a day-to-day basis Build trusted, long-term relationships with business owners and their teams by understanding their goals, challenges, and what keeps them up at night Lead weekly and monthly client meetings to present financials, surface insights, and drive meaningful conversations about business performance Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks Proactively surface financial insights, risks, and opportunities before clients have to ask Standardize reporting and documentation across client accounts for consistency and scalability Support client retention through exceptional service and genuine partnership
Accounting Operations:
Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of clients, including month-end and year-end close Review and/or prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries with accuracy and timeliness Manage AP and AR processes, ensuring clean, timely execution across all client accounts Prepare and review monthly financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting schedules Oversee cash flow reporting and flag liquidity considerations to clients proactively Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations across all engagements Coordinate with bookkeepers and staff accountants to ensure accuracy and completeness of all deliverables Partner with Controllers and fractional CFOs at Paprika to ensure seamless handoffs and alignment across the full service stack Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and implement scalable solutions
Team and Operations:
Collaborate cross-functionally with payroll, FP&A, and advisory team members to validate assumptions and align on client deliverables Contribute to internal process improvement, SOP development, and workflow documentation Leverage technology to work efficiently across a multi-client book Help standardize best practices across client accounts while recognizing that each business is different Work confidently across QuickBooks Online, Xero, Google Sheets, Excel, Bill.com, and various ERP systems Help build scalable systems that support better client service and a stronger internal team Maintain clear documentation so work can be understood, reviewed, and repeated
What We're Looking For:
  • 6-8 years of accounting experience, ideally in a client-facing, multi-client, or public accounting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle accounting across multiple clients or entities simultaneously
  • QuickBooks Online proficiency
  • Xero experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and month-end close processes
  • Proven client relationship management skills: you're someone clients trust and actually want to talk to
  • Clear, confident communicator: you can translate complex financials into plain English for business owners
  • Highly organized with strong time management: you run a tight ship across multiple engagements without dropping the ball
  • Collaborative team player who works well up and down the org: bookkeepers, peers, controllers, and CFOs alike
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented: you surface problems early and come with answers, not just questions
  • Tech-forward mindset: you embrace tools and automation to work smarter across a growing client base
  • CPA license or active CPA ambitions is a plus, not required
Why Paprika Partners:
