Day Air Credit Union, a client of Brixey and Meyer, is seeking a Director of Mortgage Lending to join their team! Full-Time | Hybrid Schedule | Wilmington Pike Branch - Kettering, OH Join Us as a Director of Mortgage Lending! Are you a proven mortgage leader who knows how to drive production, coach teams, and grow lending volume without losing sight of the member experience? Day Air Credit Union is seeking a Director of Mortgage Lending to lead and expand our mortgage operation, partnering closely with lending, branch, and accounting teams to support ambitious growth goals. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on increasing originations, developing talent, ensuring compliance, and creating an outstanding mortgage experience for members.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Director of Mortgage Lending , you will: Lead and develop a mortgage lending team, providing coaching, accountability, and performance management for direct reports and department associates. Drive growth initiatives that increase mortgage originations and strengthen relationships with referral partners, branches, and community stakeholders. Oversee the full mortgage lifecycle, including origination, processing, underwriting, closing, servicing, and secondary market activities. Troubleshoot complex lending scenarios and guide team members through challenging transactions while maintaining a member-focused approach. Ensure compliance with mortgage regulations, investor guidelines, internal policies, and NMLS requirements. Monitor vendor and partner relationships to support operational efficiency, quality, and service excellence. Support training and professional development initiatives that enhance team capability, product knowledge, and regulatory awareness. Partner with executive leadership to improve processes, manage departmental performance, and support the continued growth of the mortgage program.
Your Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you need: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. Active NMLS Registration required. 5+ years of mortgage lending experience (residential preferred), including exposure to origination, servicing, underwriting, or related lending functions. 3+ years of leadership, management, or supervisory experience. Experience with mortgage lending systems and Microsoft Office; familiarity with loan origination and appraisal platforms is highly valued. Strong coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex lending concepts into clear, practical guidance. Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing growth, risk, and compliance. Ability to work a flexible hybrid schedule, attend occasional industry events, conferences, board meetings, and community functions as needed.
