Job Description

Overview We are hiring a Director or Revenue Cycle Compliance at UnityPoint Health! This role serves as the compliance subject matter expert for all aspects of the organization's revenue cycle activities. The Director substantially contributes to the tone at the top of the organization and leads revenue cycle compliance efforts. Applicants can expect to support the Chief Compliance Officer and provide daily management of the UPH Compliance Program revenue cycle auditing and monitoring functions, compliance policy development, education and training, government response, and compliance oversight. This position ensures consistent compliance program administration, communication, and alignment with federal and state regulations. Candidates with hospital and clinic revenue cycle experience are strongly encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities Revenue Cycle Program:
Support the Chief Compliance Officer in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Compliance Work Plan, including auditing and monitoring activities Implement and execute elements of health systems compliance work plan related to revenue cycle operations Manage intake, tracking, review, and response to governmental or regulatory revenue cycle investigations Respond to identified revenue cycle deficiencies in consultation with the Chief Compliance Officer and Legal Counsel Provide compliance program support to operational and revenue cycle leadership Serve as the compliance resource for revenue cycle and operational leaders across the health system Share best practices to enhance compliance activities Compile Board and Committee reports and support special projects as assigned Collaborate with revenue cycle leadership, including but not limited to, coding, billing, and charge capture leaders to support education and training initiatives Develop and deliver role-based compliance training for coding, revenue cycle and clinical stakeholders Translate regulatory changes into actionable education and policy updates in collaboration with operational teams Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure policies and procedures reflect current laws, regulations, payer requirements, and industry best practices Monitor revenue cycle audit results and develop corrective action plans, education content, or retraining as needed
Leadership & Management:
Plan, organize, and monitor departmental processes to achieve organizational goals Motivate, mentor, and coach staff to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services Present data, strategies, and progress toward goals in governance and management forums
Qualifications Education:
Required:
Bachelor's degree supporting business, revenue cycle, healthcare, compliance or closely aligned field
Preferred:
Master's degree
Experience:
Required:
7 years of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle•specifically hospital and clinic experience
Required:
3 years of progressive leadership experience•healthcare or compliance
Preferred:
Home care and/or specialty pharmacy revenue cycle experience
Licenses/Certifications:
Preferred:
Certification in one of the following•
CHAM, CHC, CPC, CRCR, CRCE, CRCS
