Position Summary The Director of Revenue Development is a senior leader responsible for increasing and diversifying Riverside Arts Academy's revenue through business development, institutional partnerships, sponsorships, earned revenue, and other scalable opportunities. Working across departments, the Director will lead a coordinated approach to revenue development that connects RAA's programs, marketing, and external partnerships to robust financial growth. The Director will serve both as a strategist and an executor: identifying opportunities, building and managing pipelines, cultivating relationships, negotiating partnerships, and moving opportunities from initial contact through commitment, renewal, and long-term growth. The Director provides leadership around business-development revenue goals, pipeline forecasting, and follow-through while collaborating with other senior leaders on organization-wide financial planning. The Director works closely with the Director of Philanthropy, who leads RAA's philanthropic fundraising program, including individual giving, major gifts, grants, and donor events. Both Directors report to the Executive & Artistic Director and maintain distinct portfolios, while coordinating closely when opportunities arise. Business Development & Sponsorships Identify and pursue opportunities to increase and diversify RAA's revenue, with particular emphasis on school district partnerships, corporate sponsorships, postsecondary institutions, municipalities, earned revenue, and other scalable ventures. Build and manage active pipelines of prospective sponsors, institutional partners, businesses, and other revenue opportunities. Conduct prospect research, outreach, cultivation, negotiation, and follow-up to move opportunities from initial contact through commitment, renewal, and expansion. Support the negotiation, renewal, and growth of institutional agreements and identify opportunities to increase their scale or value. Work closely with the Director of Programs & Partnerships and Director of Finance & Administration to assess the financial feasibility, organizational capacity, and artistic merit of new opportunities. Work closely with the Executive & Artistic Director on high-level institutional, corporate, educational, municipal, and strategic relationships. Coordinate with the Director of Philanthropy when corporate, institutional, or community relationships include or develop into philanthropic opportunities. Revenue Operations Lead a disciplined approach to managing RAA's business-development and partnership revenue pipelines, including clear goals, coordinated strategies, relationship ownership, and defined next steps. Collaborate with the Executive & Artistic Director, Director of Philanthropy, Director of Finance & Administration, and other senior leaders in support of coordinated organization-wide revenue planning Serve as the organizational leader for the effective use and ongoing development of RAA's centralized CRM and related revenue-management systems. Establish and maintain forecasts and pipeline reporting for business-development and partnership revenue to support organizational planning and decision-making. Help establish clear systems for tracking prospects, opportunities, relationship ownership, commitments, renewals, and follow-up across relevant revenue-generating activities. Marketing & Communications Leadership Oversee RAA's marketing and communications department and ensure its priorities support the organization's mission and strategic goals. Ensure marketing strategy effectively supports enrollment, event ticket sales, institutional partnerships, sponsorships, earned revenue, and philanthropy. Establish meaningful performance measures for marketing efforts, including inquiries, leads, conversions, registrations, attendance, audience growth, donor acquisition, and revenue impact where appropriate. Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy to ensure fundraising efforts receive effective marketing and communications support. Organizational Leadership Serve as a member of RAA's senior leadership team and participate actively in organizational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategy. Work across departments to ensure business-development and revenue-related responsibilities, timelines, and priorities remain clear and advance effectively. Help foster opportunities for greater coordination among programs, marketing, philanthropy, partnerships, and external relations. Represent Riverside Arts Academy professionally with partners, sponsors, donors, community leaders, families, and other external constituencies. Contribute to an organizational culture characterized by learning, collaboration, and excellence. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in revenue development, business development, sponsorships, institutional partnerships, fundraising, marketing, external relations, or a related field, along with demonstrated success building relationships that produce measurable organizational and financial results.Competitive candidates will demonstrate:
A passion for data-driven revenue development. A strong professional record of generating revenue, sponsorships, contracts, strategic partnerships, or other measurable financial results. Ability to translate organizational goals into concrete strategies and measurable outcomes. Experience managing CRM systems, prospect pipelines, databases, or related revenue-management infrastructure. Strong understanding of marketing and communications and their role in supporting revenue generation, enrollment, partnerships, sponsorships, audience development, and philanthropy. Ability to lead across departments, supervise staff, and inspire colleagues to meet organizational goals. Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and follow-through skills.
