Job Summary This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is seeking a Financial Plans Coordinator to lead the development, preparation, and monitoring of financial plans for major transportation projects exceeding $100 million in total cost. In this role, you will provide leadership on financial plan development, guide District Project Managers and consultants, and ensure MnDOT meets federal and state reporting requirements for major projects and trunk highway bond funds. This position plays a key role in demonstrating MnDOT's fiscal commitment to large-scale infrastructure investments and ensuring strong financial stewardship throughout the life of major projects. The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Three years of advanced professional experience that demonstrates: Experience analyzing and monitoring financial plans or multi-year budgets for compliance. Experience conducting program analysis to detect errors or inconsistencies, evaluate impacts, and develop strategies for resolution. Experience using Microsoft Excel to create reports, use formulas, and analyze data. A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, or finance may substitute for six months of advanced professional accounting or finance experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with project timelines and meeting milestone deadlines. Experience with Financial Management software such as Fiscal Management Information System (FMIS), Capital Highway Information Management Enterprise System (CHIMES), or Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) to gather and analyze data extracted. Experience serving as a lead worker, providing technical guidance and direction to staff.
