Northbrook, IL Job Details Contract 4 days ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Managing accounting teams General management Fixed asset management Full Job Description A manufacturing client of ours in north suburbs of Chicago (near Northbrook) is seeking a contract Accounting Manager (Hybrid role) Fixed Asset and Payroll Accounting experience required. Seeking an experienced Corporate Accounting Manager Consultant to provide hands-on leadership across key corporate accounting functions, including fixed assets, payroll and benefits accounting, management reporting, financial statement footnotes, and internal/external audit support.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and oversee accounting activities related to fixed assets and payroll & benefits. Manage and develop a team of 9 accounting professionals through 3 direct-reporting Supervisors. Review and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting deliverables. Support monthly and quarterly close, including meeting critical reporting deadlines. Prepare and review management reporting and financial statement footnotes. Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests, ensuring accurate and timely supporting documentation. Partner with the Director of Corporate Accounting to maintain established processes, controls, and accounting policies. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and reporting. Effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Communicate clearly with accounting leadership, team members, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field required SAP experience preferred Proven experience managing accounting teams and multiple levels of staff. Strong hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting and payroll accounting — both are required. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
