Primary job duties include:

Collecting/resolving debt and enforcing tax laws in routine cases through research and taxpayer contact/follow-up, with a focus on the security of taxpayer data Assisting in prioritizing accounts in collection status by managing assigned case load and determining urgency using established selection criteria Preparing/submitting required reports, with guidance Assisting in providing taxpayer assistance to include: Providing basic assistance and referring taxpayers to use our free online tax portal (MyDORWAY) Processing Business Tax Applications Filing basic returns (current and delinquent) Adjusting/issuing assessments and liens Assisting in performing inspections of Sales, Coin Operated Device (COD), and Admissions licenses Assisting with writing violations to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations Developing, updating, and reviewing section procedures

Either:

A bachelor's degree in a related field OR An associate's degree in a business-related field and relevant work experience OR Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR) Additional requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for field work. (Mileage reimbursement provided) Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. College transcript required for consideration, where appropriate. Revenue Officers will participate in an onboarding program to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to successfully perform their job.

Hours:

Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week).

Telework schedule:

This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week after one year of employment with SCDOR.
