Job Description
How you make a difference The Actuary Senior Director provides strategic leadership across healthcare actuarial functions, including medical and pharmacy claims analysis, reserving, risk adjustment, and enterprise analytics. This role oversees the development and use of actuarial models to forecast medical costs, evaluate financial risk, and support pricing, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. The position delivers clear, data-driven insights to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and financial sustainability. This role plays a key part in managing cost volatility and supporting population health and value-based care initiatives. Qualifications & Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field required. Experience Minimum of 5-7 years of Health actuarial or related experience Strongly prefer healthcare reserving and healthcare claim trend expertise Licenses/Certifications Fellow-level designation from Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) preferred Key Responsibilities Develop and oversee actuarial models supporting medical claims forecasting, population health management, reserving, and risk adjustment. Provide actuarial support for planning, forecasting, rate-setting, reporting, pricing, and valuation activities. Analyze and interpret healthcare data using actuarial and analytical tools to deliver insights to executive leadership and the Board. Assess financial risk, trends, and uncertainties through data analysis to inform enterprise decision-making and risk mitigation strategies. Ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective communication of complex actuarial findings to internal and external stakeholders. You Matter
