We are seeking a Knoxville-based Accounting Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to nonprofit executive teams and boards by ensuring accounting quality, overseeing annual client audits, and mentoring internal team members.

Key Responsibilities Client Advisory & Board Engagement:

Review and deliver monthly financial packages, attend local board meetings, and provide strategic advice on nonprofit financial matters.

Team Leadership & QC:

Supervise, review, and mentor staff accountants; serve as lead quality control agent on all client deliverables.

Audit Oversight:

Direct annual audit preparation and act as the primary liaison between nonprofit clients and external CPA audit firms.

Process & Tech Optimization:

Identify workflow improvements and implement automation tools to maximize internal and client efficiency.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Required). CPA designation is a strong plus.

Experience:

4+ years of progressive accounting experience with solid knowledge of nonprofit accounting, grant tracking, and audit management.

Leadership & Communication:

Proven ability to coach team members and present clear financial insights to non-financial board members.

Tech-Forward Mindset:

High comfort level with modern cloud accounting applications and paperless workflow management.
