Job Description
Description Hybrid opportunity - Only 2x/week in the office. We are looking for an experienced Director of Revenue candidate to lead revenue accounting activities for a healthcare organization near Grapevine, Texas. This position oversees revenue recognition, billing operations, and revenue reporting while ensuring accurate financial results and regulatory compliance. The role also partners closely with finance and operational leaders to strengthen forecasting, support decision-making, and build efficient, scalable processes across the revenue cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Direct daily revenue accounting operations, including recognition of revenue, billing oversight, reconciliation activities, and support for collection-related processes.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end revenue close to deliver complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting.
- Apply applicable revenue recognition guidance, including ASC 606, to contracts and customer arrangements to determine proper accounting treatment.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams on budgeting, forecasting, and analysis related to revenue performance and trends.
- Establish, refine, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies that govern revenue transactions and reporting.
- Evaluate existing billing workflows and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for a team of five accounting professionals.
- Coordinate audit support by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses related to revenue accounting matters. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with substantial exposure to revenue accounting and leadership responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of revenue recognition accounting, including ASC 606 and related financial reporting practices.
- Experience supporting healthcare revenue cycle activities, accounts receivable processes, and billing operations.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives.
- Proven success leading and developing accounting staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and solid systems knowledge relevant to accounting operations.
- Detail-oriented and hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic oversight and day-to-day execution.
