Job Description
Job Summary Oversees daily accounting operations, ensures GAAP compliance and manages accounting staff to support financial integrity, forecasting, and strategic planning. Major Duties and Responsibilities Managing accounting staff Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions. Audits account to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides the information needed for the annual external audit. Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies. Responsible for maintaining SEC-compliant internal controls (SOX). Provides financial analysis for management and operations. Establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. Manage and oversee month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, revenue recognition, share-based compensation. Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions. Must have knowledge and adhere to all safety policies Other duties as assigned Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, master's degree, preferred. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases Ability to manipulate large amounts of data Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standard laws, and regulations Certified Public Accountant preferred. Deep knowledge of GAAP, and SOX compliance. Excellent management and supervisory skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to respond quickly to changes in the plans of others Ability to manage time and complete tasks despite interruptions Strong commitment to company values Physical Demands and Work Environment Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Requires mobility to work in standard office setting and to use standard office equipment Requires ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Requires ability to see and read printed materials, and ability to hear and speak to community in person and over the phone In addition, the work environment noise level is typically quiet or at a moderate level
