Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our finance team and oversee all aspects of accounting operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data, supporting strategic decision-making and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will drive efficient financial processes, foster team development, and uphold the highest standards of accounting practices across diverse sectors including non-profit, governmental, and corporate environments. Responsibilities Manage and oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable management, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SEC reporting standards, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory frameworks. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with precision, preparing comprehensive financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors. Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard confidential information and ensure adherence to accounting standards. Mentor and support accounting staff by providing guidance on technical accounting issues such as complex financial concepts, securities law compliance, or international accounting standards. Coordinate with external auditors during audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and audit queries are addressed promptly. Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems by leveraging financial software such as Sage, Xero, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools; optimize workflows using Microsoft Office tools like spreadsheets for detailed analysis. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to inform strategic planning initiatives. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or private equity sectors to ensure ongoing compliance. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting management roles with strong knowledge of GAAP. Extensive background in corporate accounting systems such as QuickBooks; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced spreadsheet skills. Demonstrated ability to handle complex financial concepts like balance sheet reconciliation, accrual accounting, cash flow analysis, and account reconciliation. Experience working within non-profit organizations or governmental agencies is highly desirable. Excellent leadership skills with a history of mentoring teams in an accounting environment; ability to communicate complex topics clearly. Familiarity with international accounting standards. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and policies. Join us to lead our finance team toward excellence! $81,840.95 - $98,561.15 per year
