Job Description
Accounting Coordinator Elemental North America is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, maintaining purchase orders, supporting door-buy transactions, reconciling vendor accounts, and assisting with general accounting and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and timely processing are essential. Key Responsibilities Process and code vendor invoices for accounts payable in a timely and accurate manner. Match invoices to purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation. Research and resolve invoice, purchase order, and payment discrepancies. Enter, maintain, and update purchase orders in the accounting/inventory system. Enter and process door-buy transactions , ensuring all required paperwork and supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and properly recorded. Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances or discrepancies. Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoices, purchase orders, payments, and account discrepancies. Assist with month-end close activities and other accounting procedures as assigned. Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and documentation. Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Accounting Department. Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned by management. Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information. Follow company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, purchasing, or a related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting or business coursework is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting or ERP/inventory systems preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to research discrepancies, identify issues, and follow through to resolution. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the Accounting and Operations teams. Preferred Experience Accounts payable and invoice processing. Purchase order management. Vendor statement reconciliation. Accounting/ERP software. Inventory or purchasing systems. Experience in manufacturing, recycling, metals, commodities, or industrial operations is a plus. Experience processing purchasing or material transactions is preferred.
