Job Description

Accounting Manager Terrell, TX Summary of Position A catering and hospitality business seeking a hands-on Controller. This role oversees accounting support team of 2 (Payroll/AP, AR) and is an active member of company leadership, participating in strategic decisions across our family of entities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee all financial record-keeping and the month-end close process, primarily within QuickBooks Desktop . Lead the accounting team (Payroll/AP, AR) 2 direct reports. Supervise collections, vendor relationships, and cross-department information sharing. Ensure timely compliance with sales & use tax, liquor tax, and payroll tax filings. Establish and maintain internal controls over company assets, including inventory and cash. Review and approve payroll registers; ensure accurate timecard entry and adherence to the approval process.
Manage accounting department processes:
hiring, termination, training, performance reviews, corrective action, scheduling, and employee development. Serve as liaison with the external CPA firm, financial institutions, payroll provider, and state agencies. Manage QuickBooks Desktop company files across multiple entities, including class/location tracking, chart of accounts maintenance, and multi-entity reconciliations. Develop and implement departmental budgets in partnership with department leaders. Communicate departmental financial impact and budget performance to department leaders. Analyze and report fixed and variable expenditures to department leaders and senior management. Develop, maintain, and report on company financial operating results; communicate results clearly to ownership. Support strategic planning as a financial partner to leadership. Qualifications High-energy, self-starter who takes ownership of the business's financial health. Strong intellectual curiosity and problem-solving instincts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Comfortable operating in both a support and advisory capacity across all levels of the organization. Skilled at leading and managing organizational change. Requirements Experience in a similar accounting/controller role. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is required — including multi-entity/multi-company file management, bank reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and class/job costing. Experience with QuickBooks Desktop in a multi-brand or franchise environment is a strong plus. Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, variance analysis). Prior supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership capability. Experience preparing and filing transaction tax returns (sales & use, liquor). Experience in hospitality, restaurant, or catering accounting preferred.
Pay:
$58,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
