Accounting Manager

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity in Virginia. This role will oversee essential close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure reporting is timely and compliant. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge and a hands-on approach to reconciliations, audit support, and journal entry oversight.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly closing activities to ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, monitoring balances, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations to support the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Oversee journal entry preparation and approval to ensure proper classification and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit stakeholders by organizing schedules, records, and requested financial information.
  • Analyze accounting data and investigate variances to improve the reliability of period-end reporting.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and related schedules in alignment with reporting requirements.
  • Strengthen accounting processes and controls to promote consistency, accuracy, and compliance across daily operations.
