Full-Time About Us Ayoub Carpet Service is a third-generation family business serving Northern Virginia since 1952. We specialize in fine rug cleaning, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, hard surface cleaning, hardwood refinishing, and flooring sales. We have built our reputation on exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and financial discipline. We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our growing company. This is not a corporate Controller position. We are looking for a working manager who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and being actively involved in all aspects of accounting and cash management. Position Summary The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the daily accounting functions of the business, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, sales tax, use tax, inventory controls, and financial administration. This position will work closely with ownership, our external bookkeeping/accounting partner, and our operations team to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, trustworthy, and comfortable managing a broad range of accounting responsibilities within a service-based organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management Enter and process vendor invoices Manage vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies Prepare and process weekly payment runs Verify supporting documentation for all expenditures Review and monitor recurring expenses and contracts Accounts Receivable & Cash Management Monitor accounts receivable and customer balances Review and verify daily deposits Assist with customer account inquiries Manage cash flow reporting Execute weekly Profit First cash allocation procedures Transfer funds between designated operating and reserve accounts Accounting Operations Review ServiceTitan transactions and integration with QuickBooks Online Verify accounting entries and transaction accuracy Assist with month-end closing activities Coordinate with external accounting/bookkeeping partners Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Monitor inventory balances and inventory-related transactions Tax & Compliance Prepare and submit sales tax filings Calculate and remit use taxes Manage business licenses and renewals Maintain compliance with state and local reporting requirements Assist with insurance audits and reporting requests Credit Card & Expense Administration Review employee credit card transactions Verify receipts and supporting documentation Monitor spending compliance Reconcile credit card activity Financial Administration Support financial reporting preparation Assist ownership with budgeting and forecasting Monitor lease obligations and payment schedules Maintain records for multiple business entities Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency Desired QualificationsRequired 5+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of: Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable General Ledger Accounting Bank Reconciliations Sales Tax Financial Reporting Experience with QuickBooks Online Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong organizational and time management abilities High attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience with ServiceTitan Experience in home services, trades, restoration, flooring, construction, or related industries Experience managing inventory Understanding of cash flow management and Profit First methodology Supervisory or leadership experience Personal Characteristics The successful candidate will be: Highly dependable Proactive and self-motivated Comfortable working independently Process-oriented Detail-focused Service-minded Strong communicator Able to work closely with ownership and operations leadership
Compensation Salary Range:
$80,000 to $95,000, depending on experience
