This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone in finance who thrives in a high-volume setting and can oversee core accounting activities while partnering with senior leadership. The role also calls for a collaborative leader who can coach a small team, strengthen day-to-day operations, and support accurate, timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Direct daily accounting activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in alignment with company policies and reporting standards. Lead the monthly close cycle by reviewing journal entries, coordinating deadlines, and delivering complete financial results on schedule. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through detailed account analysis, reconciliations, and balance sheet oversight. Prepare and review financial reports for leadership, providing clear insight into operating results, cash flow, and key financial trends. Supervise and develop a small accounting team, offering guidance, feedback, and mentorship to support performance and career growth. Partner with senior management on budgeting, financial planning, and other initiatives that improve decision-making and operational effectiveness. Support audit activities by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and helping ensure a smooth financial statement review process. Contribute to accounting process improvements in a fast-paced environment, including enhancements tied to reporting workflows and operational efficiency. At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within an accounting function. Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, journal entry review, and account reconciliation. Experience preparing financial reports and assisting with financial statement audits. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and data review. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members in a collaborative environment. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline is preferred. Prior exposure to construction accounting is an advantage. Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-moving organization while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
