About the Role The Accounting Manager oversees all day-to-day accounting operations at our local branch level, ensuring accurate, transparent financial reporting and maintaining a strong internal control environment. In this role, you will lead the month-end close process, supervise accounting personnel, prepare financial results for corporate reporting, and partner cross-functionally to support strategic business objectives. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring aging report accuracy. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and schedules. Review/approve general ledger activity, prepare consolidated trial balances, and perform account reconciliations. Analyze budget-to-actual variances and present meaningful insights to leadership. Financial Integrity & Internal Controls Establish, monitor, and enforce effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Perform control testing and remediation as necessary to protect financial integrity. Partner with FP&A to manage fixed assets, leases, and depreciation forecasting. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Supervise, coach, and mentor accounting team members, fostering a culture of accountability and accuracy. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to drive continuous process improvements. Support system implementations, potential acquisition integrations, and finance transformation projects.
What We Are Looking For Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Certification:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience (including GL close and financial reporting).
Leadership:
Proven experience supervising accounting or transactional teams (AP, AR, or general accounting).
Skills:
Strong understanding of internal controls, superior analytical abilities, robust organizational skills, and excellent communication. Preferred Qualifications Experience in HVAC, home services, utilities, or similar trade industries. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, ADP Workforce Now). Hands-on experience with ServiceTitan. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite.
Work Environment & Schedule Location:
100% In-Person position based out of Everett, WA.
Schedule:
Standard business hours, with extended hours occasionally required during month-end and year-end close cycles.
