Position Summary:
The Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company while leading and developing the Finance & Accounting team. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, accurate financial reporting, payroll accounting support, reconciliations, and tax filings. The Manager supports budgeting, cost tracking, and financial analysis while fostering accountability, efficiency, and accuracy across the department. This is a hands-on management position balancing execution with oversight in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Operations Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts. Ensure timely processing of vendor payments, rent, dues, rebates, and reimbursements. Maintain and update general ledgers; oversee deposit reports, transfers, and checkbook tracking. Prepare and file sales/use tax, and local county tax filings; support annual income tax preparation. Ensure accuracy of financial data, records, and internal controls. Conduct thorough vendor due diligence to ensure ongoing compliance and reliability.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure tracking, including capital and construction projects. Monitor cash flow and perform variance analysis to support leadership decision-making. Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership based on financial performance.
Management & Department Oversight:
Manage, train, and develop Finance & Accounting team members to ensure accountability and accuracy. Delegate daily responsibilities while maintaining oversight of deliverables and deadlines. Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and Ownership to align payroll, compliance, and financial goals. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant finance and/or accounting experience required. Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance. Experience with QuickBooks and financial reporting systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Google Workspace. Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines. Strong work ethic with a demonstrated willingness to put in the time and effort to learn, adapt, and grow within the role. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation Salary range:
