Job Description
Summary The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for performing daily reconciliations ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role ensures accounts are accurately reconciled, discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly, and internal controls are maintained to mitigate financial risk. Specific Job Functions Perform reconciliation of general ledger and internal deposit accounts - ensuring accounts are accurately reconciled, discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly, and internal controls are maintained to mitigate financial risk. Ensure all reconciling items are documented, tracked, and cleared timely. Investigate variances and root causes of unmatched items. Coordinate with other departments to resolve open items. Escalate reconciliation exceptions to senior members. Support operational efficiencies, process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reconciliation accuracy and efficiency. Support audits and examinations by providing timely and accurate reconciliation reports and supporting documentation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations and operational risk best practices. Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data. Minimum Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. This position requires the applcant to reside in Louisiana or Mississippi. 4 - 7 years of experience in a banking, financial services, or similar reconciliation role. General understanding of bank operations, payment channels (ACH, SWIFT, wires), and financial clearing processes. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and banking/accounting systems (e.g., FIS, Fiserv, Jack Henry, Oracle, SAP). Attention to detail, good analytical skills, and ability to identify trends or irregularities. Strong time management and organizational skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills.
